JACK THARP
Jack joined the Stoneridge Board in 2007 for his second tour of duty. He served his
first tour during the mid to late nineties. He and his wife, Connie, bought their condo
in 1990 to be used as a gateway from their home in Houston, Texas. They have three
married children and five grand children, all of whom enjoy visiting Hot Springs and
participating in the fun activities of the area.
Jack was born and raised in Southeast Arkansas and attended Arkansas A&M, now University of Arkansas at Monticello, for two years. He transferred to the University of Houston for his junior and senior years of college and graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Jack worked for Amoco Corporation (now BP, PLC) 36 years, retiring a few years ago. He worked in Amoco's upstream business (drilling and production) serving in numerous
engineering and management positions. These positions started out as a roustabout
trainee, working in the field, ranging to Vice President of Exploration & Production for
Amoco Egypt. Since retirement he has been involved in doing volunteer work, primarily
relating to community nonprofit and charitable organizations.
